can any one tell me if they work and where best to use them or is the built in difuser is good enough[/size][/size][/font]

Built in diffuser is good with the flash, if you need  to throw a little light on your subject. If you intend to use the flash straight on (not angled and pointed at the ceiling) I suggest you get a Stofen.

They are a good and used in both straight on flash and angled

You can get cheap ones from ebay without buying Canon
